Confirmed from Rock Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly park featuring a creek with ducks and fish and also turtles, goats and other creatures.
What runners say about Rock Creek Park
“Very nice trail within Lewisburg city limits, right along the beautiful Rock Creek.”
What a comfortable walk from the Library to the College all along the river. Plenty of informational signs and wild birds. Well build bridges keep drivers and walkers well separated. Grab the family and enjoy the nature walk.
Rock Creek Park is Lewisburgs go-to for all events, big and small! Everything from the farmers market, goats, music, and more festivals, plant swaps, concerts, and fairs! It is a great place to look at some of Tennessees native plants/animals.
Found this on our drive home to Athens Alabama during a scorching heat wave. There was a sweet, shaded, paved walking path along the creek filled with birds, geese, herons, and fish. It was a beautiful, peaceful place to stretch out our legs on our long drive home.
It was an ice place to pull of and eat in nature. We watched the creek flow and saw geese on the other side of bridge. They had a pavilion that houses a farmers market and it is pretty big. They have a wood carving representing the Goats and more music festival that is held every year at the park.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
