Confirmed from Saint Joseph Riverwalk - South Entrance's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Saint Joseph Riverwalk - South Entrance

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (145 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions
🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Very scenic though very close to the rail ways, so occasionally you may hear a train passing through.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“There is nothing more peaceful then sitting by the water and clearing it head.”

This a 2.25 mile flat wide paved path north from The Landing in St Joe to Heritage ballpark for no motorized use. The path winds along the Missouri River past the Remington Nature Center and Riverboat Casino. So about 4 to 4.5 miles to travel for a round trip. It would better if there was a public restroom someplace.

★★★★☆ — Carla , May 2020

When the weather is good it's a beautiful way to spend a wonderful morning, afternoon or evening. The walk follows the Missouri River for several miles, past historical markers for, among other things, the Lewis and Clark river crossing, the Pony Express and a wildlife refuge.

★★★★★ — Shawn , Oct 2019

My son and I took an evening jog through downtown and decided to hit the river walk. It's was so beautiful, we caught the sunset at the perfect time. The trail was clear and open. The walks grass was lush, trimmed and full of wild rabbits of all sizes. It sure is nice to get back outside...

Walk and hammock here often and it’s very peaceful! Never too busy and the nature center is right there next to the trail / river!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
