Confirmed from Sand Prairie Wildlife Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Flat hiking trails through varied terrain, plus a wildlife observation deck.
What runners say about Sand Prairie Wildlife Management Area
“Trails are nicely maintained, nice wildlife and beautiful habitat in which to take walks with my four-footed pal.”
“Next to the hwy, a gravel place, and a highway testing zone, but awesomely quiet once you walk in.”
Love this leash-less dog park, with several trails to choose from, it’s close to town yet feels like you’re in the country, with open fields of lovely native prairie grasses and flowers.
Minus my dog eating a dead rabbit, going in every pond possible, cutting her mouth on some field grass, and hearing the shooting range in the background, it's a great place to walk with or without dogs. They have the option to run free! However, bring towels.. lots and lots of towels.
Seems like a lot of dogs know what a great place this is. They bring their owners here by the dozens. Great for a hike or a Fat Bike ride. Pretty the noisy out here with trucks, trains, planes, snd police training, but amazing as well.

Trail conditions & character
“Great place to train your bird dogs or let any dog run off leash, not a dog park but if you have a good dog with recall it's the best place in the area to let them run.”
