We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Scantic River State Park East Windsor yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Scantic River State Park East Windsor

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (12 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Lovely park with multiple trails. One of which has about a hundred yards of fence with braille informational signage along it; see video.

★★★★★ — Zechariah , Mar 2025

Be prepared for mud and some narrow parts near poison ivy. The braille signed path is neat and the area in general is fun. Lots of evidence of wildlife. There are also very obviously people who work hard to keep the trails here usable, considering how many small bridges over gullys there are.

★★★★☆ — M , Aug 2025

This place is amazing, they have miles of trails. They even have a Tp . My pooch loves it here too. But a word of caution: The river can have high levels of bacteria which can be fatal to your pets. So make sure you check the water quality before you let rover go Swimming.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 3 mentions

“Lots of folks seem to walk thier dogs here, so if you're afraid of dogs maybe pick a different hike?”
