Confirmed from Scissortail Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lively space including gardens, a lake & playground, also home to a farmers' market & concerts.

Scissortail Park is truly one of Oklahoma City’s greatest gems. From the moment you step into the park, it feels like a breath of fresh air woven right into the heart of the city.
This park is amazing! It has varying views through the city and many artistic elements within it. I love that they used the city layout and landmarks to design it around. There really is something for everyone’s interests. From canoes, to sports courts, walking trails, and gardens, there is plenty to see and do.
Very beautiful area. The walking path was picturesque and had benches along the way. I love the Lilly and native plant areas. Trees lined lined the way offering a bit of shade and butterflies were evident.
Absolutely love spending time at Scissortail Park. It’s become one of our favorite go-to spots for family time, especially when there are events going on. There’s always something happening—live music, festivals, or just a great atmosphere that makes the whole place feel alive.

“We went here today and it says free parking all day Sunday, I'm not sure if it's free every Sunday or any other day but we will come back because it's a nice place to hang out 😊”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
