Confirmed from Second Creek Open Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park with walking trails.
What runners say about Second Creek Open Space
Not much for views. Good level path. Bathroom available. Mildly trafficked.
Nice little trail, but be careful for a lost large husky dog last seen roaming this area, by Buckley Road. Seems lost, dirty, tired, and scared. One minute, it'll trail along calmly behind hikers (as if it wants to find someone), the next, it'll stand it ground barking (intimidated by strangers).
Beautiful walking paths, well maintained, and nice open air. What's more to want?
The particular area that I was in was on the north side of 104th. It was a nice walk with plenty of parking, a pavilion for shade, and a nice gravel path. There is not tons of sahde along the walk however and is quite hot on a sunny day.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
