Confirmed from Shale Hollow Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic, tranquil park with forest trails, a small stream, footbridges & natural play areas.

“There is a dog friendly area and areas where they don't want dogs, so you've got to be sure you know where you're walking to be respectful of the rules.”
Very scenic, peaceful and well maintained. Shale Hollow Park is an amazing park. With a stream that flows through it and steep terrain at times, you can get a good hike in. Also there is a meadow area that gives you quite a bit of options for hiking in the park.
This is a nice little park located just off the the US23. Park has limited parking, but trails are really good. Kids can play in the running water and explore interesting rocks all around. Have fun with the family with a quick trip to this cute hidden park.
Such a beautiful hidden gem. We loved the trails and the creek. The natural play area was ok, but the creek made the entire visit worth it
This was a very nice trail. There are 3 different parts all with different terrain. Mostly kid friendly. Only one trail is pet friendly. A great park to learn about the geological timeline of this area, specifically, concretions. The creek/stream has many.
