Confirmed from Shannon Springs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular park featuring a playground and a splash pad, plus a disc golf course and volleyball court.
What runners say about Shannon Springs Park
“The park and facilities are well-maintained and clean.”
“A beautiful peaceful park with a nice pond in the middle.”
I absolutely love this park it is such a gem hiding in the middle of the city and has trails it has exercising hurdles it has beautiful bridges and flowers and ponds and ducks they have beautiful lights at Christmas time it's an amazing park definitely try to get out there if you need to relax!
It's the opening night of the Festival of Lights in Chickasha. It's beautiful! So many lights, no fee (donations), pictures with Santa, food, popcorn, a movie on an outdoor screen, and walkabout. You can ride the loop of lights on a horse-drawn carriage (seats quite a few people.)
The bridge was really romantic, there were places to grab a bite to eat and drink. You could choose to walk or drive...I must say the short walk we took was the best. There was a lovely place to take memorable pictures.
It is a very nice family experience to walk among all these fantastic Christmas lights.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
