Confirmed from Shaw's Bridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Shaw's Bridge Park follows the creek and has over a mile of trails. The area is good for bird watching, picnicking , fishing, kayaking and canoeing. When I was there most of the people were playing in the creek or walking their dog.

This is an awesome park to do some serious drone flying. It's perfectly outside the 3 mile radius of Brandywine Regional Airport (KOQN). Great open space for new flyers with a bench facing open area. There are a couple of trees down range but not taller than 50 feet.

April 2022 Beautiful, peaceful little trail along the Brandywine Creek, perfect for a short walk or some summer activity in the water. Just a nice place to relax for a couple hours and soak up nature.

Really lovely park to walk your dog or just take a stroll. The Brandywine river is there and there are tons of spots where you can sit by the river, swim and relax. I loved it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
