Confirmed from Shelby Farms Greenline's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved route featuring biking, walking and running trails, plus lake views.
What runners say about Shelby Farms Greenline
“It is well maintained calm even occasionals security.”
“Pedestrian and bike friendly, miles of paved pathways carved though rolling hills, open fields, shaded woods, and along the water.”
I decided to ride on Greenline while in Memphis. I opted to start at Tillman St because closest to downtown and the beginning of trail (West). There is no parking on street near trail due to construction. I would suggest parking at Howse Park down the street. It’s very safe.
Some of the prettiest views of nature in Memphis are along the Greenline! A great urban tour! It's even better now that it connects to the Wolf River Greenway!
Drove to shelby farms and got on the bicycle. Road from Cordova train station to Tillman St. in MEM. Nice sinage and mile markers along the way.
This is one of Shelby County's greatest assets! It is well maintained calm even occasionals security. Recently when I was riding they even had someone going up-and-down the green line blowing the leaves off the trail so you could see it easily.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
