We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Shelton Heights Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Shelton Heights Park
Great park between Washington Street and Rockville road. Pretty great paved loop. Tons of picnic tables and grill. Lots of fun for the kids with slide, tunnel and swing set. Lots of great artwork as well. Even saw a fox!! 🦊
Very nice park. I added some food to their pantry. I really liked that- that was an option. I was able to take my dog to play and do a good deed. Parking is limited. They do have walking trails but it's just a small cute park. I'd definitely come back.
Privately run park, open to public. Street library, and pantry cabinet for canned and non-perishable food. Swings, and a couple other play structures. Benches and tables. Some glass art. Trees and mowed lawn.
The person that runs it is a awesome lady she does alot for the kids check out the events she does

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
