Confirmed from Slagheap Village's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with trails, picnic facilities, and a disc golf course, plus a farmers market.

Awesome place to get out and get some fresh air. The beauty of the Cahaba river is awesome in it's free flowing form. The walking path is a great way to spend some time relaxing.
I went on Memorial Day - I was traveling and had a change of plans and it just so happens that this place was right where I needed to turn around so it felt pretty auspicious being that it was memorial day …so I stopped.
Nice area , great for walking with & without the pups and was able to pick up some great vegetables from the farmers market.
Love walking my dogs here. Wide enough to walk off course if there are people with aggressive dogs passing by.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
