We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of South Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lakeside park boasting an arboretum, botanical gardens and a 9-hole golf course.
What runners say about South Park
“But any park with a view of the gorgeous glass houses of those gardens can't be bad!”
Went for the after-dark event, running from January thru March, using a timed-entry e-ticket. Have been to the Botanical Gardens before, but all the sections are lit with colorful and changing lights, making all the exhibits look different. The orchids look especially nice, so many colors!
Very cool spot, it's great for taking a walk or bike ride in. You'll see lots of animals if you're patient too. I've seen a swan here once and turtles I recommend coming here in the winter too! I saw some deer, lots of squirrels, and it's so peaceful with all of the snow.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
