Confirmed from Sycamore Valley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with ball fields, bocce courts & paths, plus a playground, picnic area & BBQ pits.
What runners say about Sycamore Valley Park
“The play area felt safe and clean, with lots of open space for toddlers to explore.”
“The nearby Sycamore Valley Regional Open Space Preserve has a nice, but steep hike as well, with great views of Mount Diablo.”
“The playground is not big but cute in this place but the most exciting for us was the trail we visited before - Shady Slope, Short Ridge, Sand Hill Trail.”
“Aside from that, the park feels peaceful and welcoming, and we’ll definitely be back—just with water shoes in hand next time!”
“It is very green in April - definitely recommend as an easy trail for the families with young kids!”
Lovely place! There is a large community park which with lots of facilities for children. And an open space for hiking all day long with great view. It isn’t that steep and easy for a toddler can deal with. The parking lot is huge too, nearby a elementary school. In a nutshell it is great to go.
The playground is not big but cute in this place but the most exciting for us was the trail we visited before - Shady Slope, Short Ridge, Sand Hill Trail. It’s just 2.1 miles and first third part of it is going up to the hill, so it is a little bit hard part but then it’s pretty simple. Our 4.5 years kid could make.
This is actually a review for the Open Space Preserve behind the park. Refreshing greenery and wild flowers along the shady slope trail. A really beautiful trail in spring! It's a short loop trail with moderate slope. Good for kids.
I visited this park today with my 14-month-old son and overall we had a really lovely time. The play area felt safe and clean, with lots of open space for toddlers to explore. There’s also a fun water feature, which was such a great way for my son to cool off and play.
