Confirmed from Syllamo Trail: White River Bluff Loop's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Syllamo Trail: White River Bluff Loop
“My favorite spot for a run with the pups, the river overlook spots (there are 3) provid a great view especially when there is morning mist over the river”
“This hike follows a well maintained trail that is easy to follow, has mostly gentle grades, and should be accessible for anyone of moderate fitness level.”
I went on a weekday in the heat and had the entire trail to myself. Amazing river views and peaceful woods.
Awesome trail worth taking the time to walk it. The trail head is at a national forest parking area so there is a FEE..... Its only 3 dollars but you HAVE TO PAY!!!!! YOU WILL GET A CITATION IF YOU DONT. RANGERS TRAVEL ALL THE PARKING SPOTS....
We walked to the over look and back, about 2 miles round trip, took our dog with us and she did fine on all the trails.
Went on the 2 hour hike. It took 3 hours. Only seen 1 snake. No bear. Beautiful forest.

“Good shoes or hiking boots recommended for portions of the trail where roots and rocks make footing tricky, to avoid a turned ankle.”
“We hiked the loop without water in mid-March without problems, but I will take water along next time.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
