Confirmed from Tammany Trace's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Leafy, paved walking & biking path, converted from an old rail corridor, stretching for 31 miles.
What runners say about Tammany Trace
“Beautiful, long, path to run, walk, bike or skate.”
This is an underused asset of St. Tammany Parish. I hate to tell people how great it is. I bike on it four to five days a week. There is not much traffic, foot or bike. Your only problem can be some busy intersections. So, don't just blast through them on your bike without looking both ways.
Beautiful, long, path to run, walk, bike or skate. Full of the natural beauty of Louisiana, you can see Abita, Covington, Mandeville, Lacombe and Slidell. No pets allowed, although service animals are. The rangers asked, very nicely, when I inquired, that you "please scoop after them or we will have to".
Beautiful, especially in the spring. Hill-free biking/walking meandering ~30 miles through parks & quaint towns. Note- no pets are allowed, even on a leash.
Koop Drive Tammany Trace is a great spot to bring your bike and get a little exercise riding to Abita or Covington to have some lunch. It is a nice ride if you are not an Iron Man Biker. If you are a long distance rider, the Trace is a great ride starting anywhere to do the complete loop. There are many Trailheads.
