Confirmed from Tantum Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with sports facilities such as basketball and tennis courts, plus picnic tables.
What runners say about Tantum Park
“There are clean restrooms on site, which is a HUGE plus.”
“Thomas J May nature trail is a good family trail for all ages”
Smaller park with a couple baseball fields, basketball courts and football field. They also have a small indoor baseball practice area. It has a couple netted pitch machines. There is also a hiking trail - Tom May trail - not sure how long it is. Overall well kept and clean.
Love this park! Many really neat features aside from the obvious climbing structures. The music/chimes are personally our favorite, as well as the shaded picnic tables. There’s swings for newborns and toddlers with safety harnesses which is so nice to see. Behind the park is a small walking trail for a bit if “nature”.
Love this park! Well maintained rather new equipment. Nice spongey landing under foot for kids who may fall while climbing. Several shady areas and covered picnic pavilion. Within a short walk are basketball courts, tennis and a nature trail!
My kids and I love the trails in this park. They have a playground, field, courts and covered picnic tables. Just know the bathrooms are always locked in the Fieldhouse unless they have a game going on. Great park!
Trail conditions & character

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
