Confirmed from Tempe Beach Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tempe Beach Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (10,435 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“I'm a huge fan of Tempe Beach Park, it's got great views of the lake and sidewalk trails for scooters, bikes, and joggers.”

Tempe outdid themselves when they designed this place. This is a beautiful location. Everything from the beach to walking paths. From the pediatrician bridge to cross the other side. And all the places to just walk and chill. Great way to see the early morning lights of Tempe. It was my first time here.

WONDERFUL LAKESIDE PARK! I'm a huge fan of Tempe Beach Park, it's got great views of the lake and sidewalk trails for scooters, bikes, and joggers. The park is welcoming to all, locals, visitors, college students, families, and the elderly. I saw a great mix of folks enjoying a good view and walk.

★★★★★ — Lorenzo , Jan 2026

I visited briefly and came on a Sunday - parking is metered (pay through Park Mobile) but the app said it's free on weekends. I walked along the Tempe Town Lake; there were several people running, biking, or walking dogs. The foot bridge across the water is nice.

The perfect place for adults, kids and pets. Whether you want a workout or just a romantic walk by the lake this is the place to go to. They offer day activities as well as beautiful views at night. In this AZ heat take advantage of the late hours. Open until midnight.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
