We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of The Rise yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about The Rise
“Gorgeous tree setting, mountain bike trails and lots of beautiful bird species!”
I loved this place because:- 1. Walking trails are shady and cool. 2. Mountain bike trails are beautiful. 3. Hiking trails are breathtaking!
Have you taken the challenge and climbed The Rise at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve? It’s about halfway between the north and south gates. It’s 185 steps that give you a great workout, equal to 11 flights of stairs.
I love the stairs here, very enjoyable natural area with 185 steps to the top. There are places to pause along the way and dogs are welcome. Very well maintained and sometimes I’ll see people carry the log from the bottom for an extra challenge. It’s .5 miles from the north end to the start of the stairs.
You can take Oscar’s trail to the top of the steps and then just walk down the stairs- down is my favorite! The view in fall might be worth walking up!
Trail conditions & character
“For sure worth doing if you are already in the area but I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more of a view from the top.”
“It has no wheelchair ramps however, this is strictly non-handicapped accessible.”
