Confirmed from Tipton Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tipton Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (385 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“We booked Tipton Park for a birthday party, everything was clean and everybody had a great time, the playground area is great!”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Wonderful park, bathrooms are right next to the playground, they have two charcoal grills available (in a very sunny spot, bring something for shade if you can).”

great park with play equipment/splash pad for kids. two ball diamonds (one with a fence), three basketball hoops, lengthy paved walking/biking trail that connects to Constitution Trail that runs throughout Bloomington/Normal. There is also a stocked lake around the opposite side from the playground and ball diamonds.

★★★★★ — Matthew , Feb 2023

It is a beautiful park landscaped to look like a natural prairie with paved walking paths and fishing areas. Convenient parking and good fishing for bass and sunfish.

★★★★★ — Glen , Aug 2017

This park has a great shaded eating area, a splash area, and a traditional jungle gym/playground area. On top of that a nice walking trail with decent bathrooms. You can literally spend hours at this park. It's great and my kids love it!

★★★★☆ — T , Jun 2019

Our cub scout group came here for a 3 mile hike to earn their achievements. Kids loved it my son said his walk went great and they learned a lot and socialized. After the walk they enjoyed the lovely playground for a little while.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
