Confirmed from Trout Creek Canyon trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

Amazing hike! The best hidden gem hike in Helena Mt area. The rock canyon is thousands of feet high and you hkee right at the base of them all basically the entire hike.

★★★★★ — Joe , May 2024

Really great easy trail. The first mile or so I would call handicap accessible.

★★★★★ — Ray , Oct 2023

What a great hike. The scenery is beautiful and the hike is easy with a few small ups & downs. If you do the entire trail it is 3 miles to the end, so 6 total miles. This is an out & back trail. The canyon is cold in the morning be prepared for cooler temps.

★★★★★ — Duke , May 2024

Wunderschöner Trail! Der erste Abschnitt ist mit kleinen "Randinformationen" ausgestattet, danach wird es wilder und abenteuerlicher. Es dauert eine Weile bis dorthin zu fahren.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
