Confirmed from Turtle Creek Greenway Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Turtle Creek Greenway Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (138 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Well kept trails, but too close to the traffic for my tastes.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful trails, easy access from milwaukee road, great spot”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Quiet, well-maintained, non-strenuous walking trail.”

Wonderful greenway that tucks some wilderness in the Beloit city limits. Less crowded than the riverside parks, the trail either loops to the left or goes along the floodplain to the right. SO MUCH WILDLIFE. Waterfowl, deer, turkey, owl, and rabbits. BE ADVISED OF THE RESIDENT COYOTES.

★★★★★ — Ron , Mar 2022

Beautiful trail along Turtle Creek. Saw several unique wildflowers and plants including filberts.

★★★★★ — David , Sep 2020

Quiet, well-maintained, non-strenuous walking trail. Many opportunities to stop and watch the waters of Turtle Creek roll by. My first time being there despite living in Beloit for most of my life.

★★★★☆ — Jeremey , Dec 2019

My furbabies and I love being in touch with nature. A great place to walk, fish, or just enjoy nature. We actually seen a 16 point Buck on our first visit! A Definite for the outdoor and nature goers

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🤫 Quiet / uncrowded 3 mentions

“Quiet, well-maintained, non-strenuous walking trail.”
