Not a bad start to a promising great paved trail. 4.5 one-way. Plenty of benches to stop at and rest if needed. all crossroads clearly marked and ped x option to cross streets. i started in Leominster and rode to the end in Fitchburg crossing rt 2 on ped bridge and another bridge over a gully.
We ride (walk) at DAWN! The Twin Cities Rail Trail is officially OPEN!! 🙌 We walked an hour and made it from 4th St, Fitchburg to Moore St., Leominster in 1 hour... about 2 miles. It's so gorgeous!! So many new sights --- seeing Fitchburg from a new perspective ! Love these mile markers, little sitting areas...
I absolutely love it. It's off the road, well paved and clean!. Early morning walks are so serene. I have walked the full length numerous times (4.5+ mi) and I do always recommend it to locals who haven't checked it out yet.
Excellent rail trail! Nicely paved and well marked. Nice bridges and scenery you cannot get anywhere else. I especially like the portion near the operating railroad tracks. What an opportunity for restaurants along the way and at either end. Lots of parking, points of interest nearby, and outdoor events in both cities.
