Very nice campground, big spaces, clean bathrooms and showers (showers are free for campers). Great walking and bicycling trails that go into the small towns of Rogue River and Gold Hill.
We loved our week at Valley of the Rogue State Park! Site E8 was perfect—level, spacious, and right along the river. The paved trail that runs directly from the campground into the town of Rogue River was such a highlight—we explored it on e-bikes and loved how charming the town was with its restaurants and shops.
The most popular Oregon state park by the number of visitors. A lot of visitors seem to be short term stays during the week since it is right off the freeway with easy on and off and close to the Oregon/California border. This park is located right on the Rogue River between Grants Pass and Medford.
We were on a 10 hr road trip with 2 medium-sized dogs. This rest area portion was mid way and a welcome relief for dogs. The large, fenced-in doggy area was awesome. We had lunch on the picnic table located inside doggy area. Walking trail along the river had gorgeous views.
