Confirmed from W.J. Freeman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about W.J. Freeman Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,254 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“The well-maintained playground offers a variety of activities to keep kids entertained.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“This family-friendly park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and parents alike.”

Overall, the park is great. More swings could be added in the playground area, but the other areas like the pavilion, tennis courts and walking trail are nice. I enjoy going there to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

It’s clean and well under some nice shade trees. A mix of children play such as little kiddos to big kids. Great place to meet other parents with kids if you’re new and wanting to get some friends with kids.

★★★★★ — Stephanie , Sep 2025

I enjoyed this park so much, my walk was so peaceful and the people were friendly it was just a breath of fresh air, I can't wait to go back, I finally found somewhere to do my daily walks

★★★★★ — Summie , Nov 2025

Good bike/hiking tracks and quiet atmosphere. Plenty of shelter and picnic tables, lots of room to throw frisbee etc.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 3 mentions

“The bathrooms are newly renovated and clean.”

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
