Confirmed from Walnut River Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Recreational place featuring multiple trails, plus a lake, camping and cabins.

“This was an easy trail however I'm guessing it's supposed to be a loop but not well marked.”
This is a nice trail that winds through the woods from a cemented walkway to a heavily wooded nature trail. Early morning hikers can expect to see deer, rabbits and other wildlife as well as hear the sounds of woodpeckers, owls and the occasional turkey.
This was an easy trail however I'm guessing it's supposed to be a loop but not well marked. I thought the trail was 1 mile but we walked 3 miles before we found our way back to the trailhead. Still, it was a nice walk.
Attended the first day hike at the state park and it was first time visiting. The trails are nice and have multiple to choose from! Peaceful and beautiful even in January
There are several trails that meander around the Walnut River Campground at Eldorado State Park. Some are cement bike and walking trails. Others a unpa ed trails all are beautiful and peaceful. I walked the trail with my dog and we scared up a covey of quail and a pair of Canadian Geese.

- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
