Confirmed from Wanaque Ridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wanaque Ridge
“Beautiful views and a nice park, you'll enjoy a nice walk in the park with the spectacular views.”
This ridge offers scenic views of Norvin State Forest and Wanaque Reservoir. There are several ways to get there. The best way is to park your car at Back Beach Park off 511, where parking spaces are always availabe. I feel safe because of the frequent police car patrols.
Beautiful views over Wanaque. I highly recommend taking the hike. Very low cell phone single along the trail so be safe. I did see a rather large bear and bald eagle so it was well worth the walk.
Did a great hike here. Visited the castle on top. View is amazing. Great find! Beginner to intermediate hiking trail.
Nice place to hike with a lot of trails up to ramapo lake. Saw 4 beautiful bears it was awesome watching them
