We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Warrenville Grove yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Warren-vile groove forest preserve is a nice piece of nature that has a big river In it . Part of it used to be a dam and mill for early settlers but has been restored to its original natural shape. You will hear woodpeckers and other birds singing mixing with the music of river.

Lived in Warrenville for 30+ years and never been there. Looking for fall pictures and this was beautiful with bridge and water. Nice hidden gem. Will have to check the trail out when I have time. Would have taken more pictures but HC pics were being done.

★★★★★ — Dawn , Oct 2023

Beneath a quilt of emerald leaves, Where quiet sun through branches weaves, There lies a path, both kind and true— Warrenville Grove, in morning dew. We walk our dogs through gentle turns, Where river hums and daylight burns Just soft enough to let us stay In shaded joy the length of day.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
