Confirmed from Westgate Walking Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved and unpaved walking paths that also accommodate runners and cyclists.
What runners say about Westgate Walking Trails
“It's clean and there are plenty of beautiful trees around.”
“Beautiful wooded areas along with fun tines going through the main section of the park.”
Dothan has the best walking trail of any city I have ever visited. I had the pleasure of living across the street from it for several years and it was a staple in my week. The trail has both a walking and bike path and is right at 5km long and is in a circle.
I personally like to walk the Westgate Walking Trails. I have not been a dedicated Walker in many years, so I particularly like the shorter 1/2 mile trail. The three mile trail is nice, but ,I am not that dedicated besides, I like the body building stations.
Walked the trails this morning and loved it. This park has trails that are part paved and part natural which makes it so much better. The trails are a little over 3 miles and there are sections that are marked out exclusively for bicycle riders and separate for walkers/ runners.
Very nice walking trails. Well thought out layout, as the name implies it is still wild in that as much of nature it was possible to not disturb, was not disturbed. It is like walking in a natural forest habitat.
Trail conditions & character
“If I had to guess it it approximately 60-70% shaded which makes it perfect to stay out of the sun and to keep you cool in the summer.”

“There are several restrooms and water stations along the path as well.”
