Confirmed from Wetzel Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Low-key playground and park for tennis and basketball players, plus kids' swings, slides and a rubber-surfaced area.
What runners say about Wetzel Park
“Great park, clean, plenty of stuff for the kids to do!”
Quiet neighborhood park that’s tucked away in Sycamore. There’s no parking lot at this location which seems strange initially but it really doesn’t matter because there’s usually nobody driving along these neighborhood roads.
Nice park to visit in sycamore with a trail, and children's play area. Watch out for poison ivy along the trail though (as you would anywhere else) because it seems to be very prominent here this time of year. There is also a pond, and a stream running through the park which makes the land all the more interesting.
Nice secluded park in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for kids up until about 5 years old. There's a large sand pit (bring your own toys), a covered area with tables, swings and a small playset. There are also some small walking paths, and a couple of courts for basketball and tennis.
Great little park. Large sand pit for the kids, great shade tree that covers the equipment in the morning.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
