Confirmed from Wildlands Trust - Great River Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring open fields, forests and trails for walks and dog-walking.
What runners say about Wildlands Trust - Great River Preserve
“It's always well kept, though when it rains there are some pockets of muddy areas.”
“The Great River Preserve is simply stunning.”
“The sprawling forest and field are a great place for a walk in the woods, a dog walk, or hunting (in the right season).”
Beautiful, scenic and peaceful. Lots of well maintained trails and all different types of wildlife. Park and walk the wooded trails or park and continue down the road to see the Taunton River at the overlook.
Beautiful place to go for a light hike. The trailers are very well maintained and the area is very very clean. It's a mix of meadows, light wetlands, forest, and riverbanks. The whole trail is about 2.4mi, but there are plenty of cut through trails to keep it short if you want to.
Best place for walking your dog. Though I wish people respected others by keeping their pets on leashes.
The Great River Preserve is simply stunning. We were taken here to do a photo shoot but will definitely be coming back. The land was purchased from the Lehtola family in 2009 and contains wide open fields, wooded areas, and native American historical sites. In all, the preserve covers 328 acres.
