Confirmed from Willard's Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Willard's Woods

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (112 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“We love this place, not hard but lots of small trails & lots of DOGS🥰 beautiful flowers & a small stream & a spot 2 have a bonfire & get togethers”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Perfect place to walk your dog, beautiful and peaceful but small enough you can't get lost”

I have been going to Willard's woods for about 25 years. I have watched it evolve into a wonderful place to walk alone or with a friend (four legged friends welcome) it is a super relaxing and peaceful environment that makes for a pleasant walk any day of the week.

★★★★☆ — Anthony , Sep 2019

An excellent piece of conservation land. Its mostly off leash for dogs during the week. On leash for weekends. Tall pines, loud birds, and open, flat terrain for easy walking. Mosquitos of course, so spray up.

★★★★★ — Joseph , Jun 2022

A very nice place for a hike. The parking area is not the easiest to find, but there are small signs showing the way. The hiking area itself is very pleasant and there was a good rock to climb. There are also a few footbridges along the way.

★★★★★ — Cecelia , Dec 2022

Very dog friendly trails. Lots of loops and open forest to explore. Dogs can be offleash weekdays. Very clean porta potty in the parking lot on North.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
