Confirmed from Wonch Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed grassy area with a playground, an exercise area and riverfront views.
What runners say about Wonch Park
“It was clean and the paved path is in good shape to walk or bike on albeit not very long.”
“The kids play area is fun and safe, the pavilion is gorgeous, and the adult exercise area is unique in the area as far as I'm aware.”
Wonch Park is a beautiful park on Okemos road. There are public bathrooms, outdoor exercise equipment, pavilion, plenty of park benches and picnic tables, access to sidewalks running along Okemos road, a playground, paved trail running along the perimeter and plenty river front views.
The Red Cedar River runs next to it and is a nice place to spend a short time with family and friends. Equipped with fitness equipment, the place is relatively small and cannot accommodate a large number of people. It is worth noting that mosquitoes are common in the area.
It's a nice, colorful playground with lots of space around, good trail and nice fish art in the entrance. It's surrounded by lots of trees 🌳
We got dinner out and decided to eat at Wonch Park. They have a gazebo there with picnic tables and swings and different things for kids to play on. The park also has grills to fix food on. There were picnic tables in different areas of the park. There is a walking trail we did not take but I believe it goes a ways.
