Confirmed from Wood Run Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wood Run Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (171 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Uwharrie national forest is a great place to go for any hiking, camping or MTB adventure. The biking trails are just awesome. Great layout and the elevation change is just enough to make the legs scream. We did woodrun to Keyauwee to supertree back to woodrun gives you about 13 miles of fun.

Great ride. I debated going back to Uwharrie because the last time I was there was for a hike and in my opinion it wasn't much of a sight. For mountain biking though I highly recommend it, even after it rain.

This is a very nice destination for Triangle mtbikers. There are two main loops, plus an extra trail that links to the main trailhead. The trails are very nicely designed with optional small jumps and skill features. Doing the entire system is a moderate challenge for me and my family.

Came here for MTB and did some serious miles for the first time (20 miles was heavy for me as a new MTBer).. A great place to work on your skills as a beginner/intermediate. Keyauwee at your own risk..If you’re on hardtail and are a beginner like me, may god have mercy on your soul

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
