Confirmed from A K Bissell Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“It's a beautiful bell, honoring both countries.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Always a nice day in the shady coverage of the playground.”

Beautiful open space. Lots of walking space. Cute water feature running through the park, lots of grass, play area for 2-5 year olds... great park in a city setting which doesn't feel like you're in the city!

★★★★☆ — Sarah , Jun 2025

The history section of this park was very informative, everything about the Manhattan Project. We walked around the park and most of the trails were paved. There was plenty of places to sit. Most of the trails are in the sun so they would be hot in the summer. The Peace bell was cool and of course I had to ring it.

Love, love, love this park! There’s a great walking trail all the way around plus a playground for small children! The scenery is beautiful! Great place for the whole family 😀

I didn't even know this was here until my son came to visit. It's less than 2 mi from my house. It makes a very cool gong.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
