Confirmed from Abendschein Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Local park featuring a playground, baseball field, disc-golf course, wooded trails & skate facility.
What runners say about Abendschein Community Park
“What a great inexpensive way to spend time with the family, get great exercise, enjoy a beautiful day in beautiful surroundings!”
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL park! Lots of Disc fold happening, great ball diamond, excellent trails for runs, walks, bike rides and dog walks. Also Great for the kids! Nestled amidst the tranquility of the Root River Parkway adjacent to the Oak Leaf Trail.....
Disc golf course is nice, great to walk your dog!!! N its close to my house!!!
I go there to hike with my dog Loki. He has severe anxiety, and he will not take walks around my neighborhood. He will go numb. 1 in the yard, but it's rare for him to go numb. 2. I have to take him to the dog park or the regular park at minimum once daily for him to do his business.
A super cool place to go disc golfing there's even a good cutoff between the short and long holes so you can do a quick game if you want. Also there's a path that goes around the whole park that's good for walking or riding bikes and I'm pretty sure its dog friendly here. Have fun! :-D

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
