Confirmed from Falk Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking trails through stands of native trees & grassland bird habitat, with picnic facilities.
What runners say about Falk Park
“The trail is beautiful the grounds are nice, parking lot is small it appears to be a reserve for birds”
“Trail is fairly easy to follow.”
A nice place in the city to escape the crowds and go for a walk in the woods! Did the loop twice and some side trails for a total of 3.7 miles on my Fitbit and I only saw three other people total while I was there. There's no particular view, just woods. But it was peaceful and very easy.
Quick 2 mile, honestly, easy hike for anyone even moderately fit. Found the trail on the alltrails app, and was shocked to find that it was a park in the middle of Franklin (my husband's old stomping grounds) that we've NEVER been to!! GREAT FIND!!!
Beautiful setting with miles of trails. Mosquitoes in the summer and fall are unbearable, very muddy in the warmer winter and early spring months, but lots of fun to trek through with appropriate clothing and footwear! Several bridges and short areas of boardwalk.
Very nice trail! Was just challenging enough to keep my toddler entertained.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
