Confirmed from Ackley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Lights Festival Review.. You can walk or drive to see the lights. It provides horse carriage rides, carousel, pictures with Santa, mini golf,, and hot cocoa all for free. I took 5 of my teen neices and they all had a great time. Time is limited to 6 to 9 pm so it was very cold outside but still worth visiting.

Plenty to do if you are a human. Tennis courts, picnic areas, a large kid activity area and lots of grass. If you are a dog there is nothing. No free run contained dog park but there is a walking trail.

We drove through to see where the water park and other amenities were before the big Route 66 Centennial Celebration June 12, 13

The place seems really nice, there was kids walking around looking at the ducks, play toys, and they are even showing movies starting at 9 p.m. this summer. The ducks are very talkative and let you get within just a couple feet, very calming and awesome place.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

💡 Lit for night running 5 mentions

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
