Nice easy loop trail with a unique view of the highway and some cool plants and birds. We also saw some wild boars when driving up so that was cool. The trail is really easy but at parts will get your blood pumping a little.
This is a great place for hiking. The start and end points are both parks, so it's also a great place to enjoy the park. The 4.8-mile course is a moderate length and not too challenging, so it's possible to do it with children. It's not a trail that will show you the stunning views of Hawaii.
We spent a month on Oahu, did a lot of different things including hiking different trails. I can say for sure; the Aiea Loop Trail is one of the best trails I ever been to. It is so great we visited it 4 times within a month we’ve been in Oahu. The trail is 4.8 miles and will take you about 2 hours.
The parking area doesn't open until 7:00 a.m. so make sure you take that into consideration when arriving. also, there's plenty of parking lots to choose from, even if you have to start on the bottom end of the trail. there's several bathrooms as well at the beginning that you can use.
