Confirmed from Alexander Park West's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picnic-friendly park offering paved paths for walking and bike riding, plus a playground.
What runners say about Alexander Park West
Thee best walking trail in all of Mcdonough PERIOD!! If this park had a lake or pond (which I strongly hope they put in), it'd be a 10 star! Until then, I guess only giving it 5 stars will have to do until they put in the body of water.🤷🏽♂️😎👍
Nice trail to walk or bike. At the time of this posting, it's a little confusing exactly where the beginning of the trail starts. Looks like there may be two starting points and two ends. Maybe the ends will connect at some point.
Cute scenic city/nature trail and disc golf course squeezed near downtime mixed residential. You can’t miss it. If you are in that new roundabout. The entrance has gate opening that looks like a huge cemetery entrances with double with iron gates which is interesting.
Quiet little trail, nice paved, walked my dog, some joggers, simple 2 mile walk. A lot of people playing that disc slam game lol

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
