Confirmed from Altamont Creek Park and Field's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Altamont Creek Park and Field

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (55 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“The well-maintained playground provides endless fun for children, featuring a variety of swings, slides, and climbing structures to keep little ones entertained for hours.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Nestled within the serene Livermore valley, this park boasts breathtaking views that serve as a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls or peaceful picnics.”

Great park with a well manicured field, baseball fields, soccer fields and a path around the outside. My favorite part of this park is that half of this park is left to grow naturally. The weeds are trimmed to combat chances of a fire, but other than that, the park is left to handle itself, and it does so very well.

Nice park for small kids. Good play structure. The park ground is not flat and therefore little challenging to play soccer or other ball games. There is nice path way for people to walk. Over all a quiet and nice place to enjoy.

My kids really loved this park. This was one of few which had a tire swing. We had so much fun on it. The park also has multiple baseball/ softball fields. It is attached to the creek which has a walking path.

GREAT PARK. LOTS OF OPEN SPACE. PLAYGROUNDS. BALL FIELD. WALKING TRAIL AROUND PARK. NOT ENOUGH BATHROOMS THOUGH.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
