Confirmed from Anderson Lake State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“It was beautiful, found a couple frogs but only got a picture of one.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

This is the month of June, trails were beautiful and fun! Obviously there’s always the chance of running into mud during are none summer seasons, but this is the Pacific Northwest, mud and brush is to be expected.

★★★★★ — Chelsea , Jun 2025

It was beautiful, found a couple frogs but only got a picture of one. Wish the sun had been out but no biggie the walk was very nice and the trails are short but scenic regardless how close to the road you get.

★★★★★ — Autumn , Nov 2020

Beautiful state park! The lake has toxic algae so we didn’t go up to it to take a look because I have a pup (who would definitely want to jump in). But the hiking trails are well maintained and marked nicely. They have trail maps in the parking area.

★★★★★ — Kay , Oct 2023

Took the family here and hiked the B trail all the way around. Beautiful trail and we saw lots of great wildlife.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Anderson Lake State Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • Distance4.5 mi as reported — check whether that is one way or a round trip before you commit
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
