We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Arastradero Preserve Vista Point yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“Great walking, running, biking place in Palo Alto.”

An open preserve with amazing views, and green pastures during the winter. try and go there when the skies are clear and you can see the Oakland bridge and most of the bay from up here. Friendly for dog walkers, mountain bikers and short strolls.

Great spot to bring your dog on a hike! They have a doggie water fountain and restrooms by the parking lot. This is on-leash only to avoid any incidents with frequent horseback riders passing by.

★★★★★ — Sarah , Nov 2019

If you go out the back side of the parking lot instead of towards the bathrooms, you can cross arastradro to the main part of the preserve. Via this entrance there is more shade and narrower steeper paths, although also more evidence of horse traffic...

Gorgeous! Was tough to find parking near the trailhead (no parking) but was able to pull my car over and walk around without my car getting towed or anything. I would recommend bringing a picnic blanket and some snacks and enjoying the beautiful view!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
