Confirmed from Area A Bike Path Gate - Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Area A Bike Path Gate - Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (9 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Gorgeous and calm path to go for a casual walk or run with beautiful views. Very inclusive and saw many cyclists, runners, families, and people walking on this route. This trail does not have any lamp posts, so beware of when it does start to get dark!

★★★★☆ — Raihana , May 2025

One of the better isolated bike paths in the LA area! I’ve long enjoyed this pathway for it’s passage into the ecology of the Ballona Creek natural area by bike, in addition to the designated purpose, with unobstructed riding and without distraction’s.

★★★★☆ — Jim , Sep 2023

This part of Reserve runs along the Ballona Creek. You can see migratory ducks and shorebirds off both banks. There is a small parking for the Reserve. It is opposite the paid public parking. See my photo for hours. I believe it is 8-1pm Wed-Sat.
