Confirmed from Armentrout Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring kid-friendly hiking trails, picnic tables, and scenic views.
What runners say about Armentrout Preserve
“The first area seems like old farmland roads, scenic and relaxing.”
“Nice path, mostly tree covered, watch out for dog poo near parking lot off of Beale St.”
“Good easy trail, connects to a few other small preserves to make a loop about 2.”
Very pretty underused and hidden trail. It’s mostly shade. The path starts out as uneven packed dirt which gives you some solid footing. But after a rain storm it’s probably muddy. As you enjoy the scenery keep your eyes on the path. You will get a workout from the up, down, around, and over trail walking.
Nice preserve in the midst of Ambler and Blue Bell. All natural paths. So watch out for your steps on uneven land. Makes for a good hike on a short drive from home.
Preserve in Ambler PA. The walking area is mowed meadows or dirt trails through the woods. Depending how fast you walk you can do the loop through the woods in 30 minutes to an hour. You also may stop and look at the scenery. There are no benches throughout the loop.
Trails through meadows and beautiful old growth forest. Connects to Camp Woods Preserve for a 1 hour continuous hike, with short loops if desired. BIG trees (tulip poplar, poplar, and oak). Sunny sections and a deep thick darkly shaded wood for a cool walk on a warm day.
