This is Number 4 of the 24 Athol History Trail Markers. This one marks the location of the toll house and gate on the 5th Massachusetts Turnpike. There is a paved area near this marker that makes it easy to pull on and off the main road. The traffic can be busy and moving fast. There is also a sidewalk.
