Confirmed from Awaysis Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Clean facility and restrooms.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“I love bringing my dog out here for walks, beautiful views and the lighthouse is really cool.”

Beautiful park. I live in South Texas and came here to visit my sister. The park has a large grass area for kids to play in. There is also a long sidewalk trail to walk, ride bikes, or walk your dog. There is a large beautiful playground area for children to play in.

★★★★★ — Alan , Jul 2023

My daughter just turned 1 year and she loved it! It has an infant maze, and another area for older children with all sorts of things for them to do. (Different slides, swings, monkey bars, etc) There was also a beach area, kayak rentals and a snack shack/pavillion.

★★★★★ — Juanita , Aug 2023

It looks like a nice beach and playground and the lighthouse/observation tower is pretty cool, though I took off a star because the elevator is SO gross and buggy. But it's cool that it's even open and operating, so many things aren't!

★★★★☆ — Sara , Aug 2021

I love bringing my dog out here for walks, beautiful views and the lighthouse is really cool. I will definitely be coming back for more walks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
