We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Badger Mountain Centennial Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Badger Mountain Centennial Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (575 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Well maintained trails and portapotty on Dallas Road side while a restroom maintained by the city at the other trailhead.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“Always a nice quiet scenic area to visit EXCEPT when the wind is howling.”

Hike the mountains you have, not the ones you wish to have. Badger wouldn't be a five-star hike in the Cascades, but it's the best we have in the Tri-Cities. The trails are in excellent shape throughout the year. I wish the powers that be would resurrect some of the historical paths that are steeper.

Great trails, good views. It's not like you can get in the cascades, but it's in our own backyard!

★★★★★ — Mark , Feb 2023

Great hike but no shade. Take water and sunscreen. It is a large hill with some wild flowers and birds.

★★★★☆ — Valerie , May 2017

If you are in the Tri-Cities, Badger Mountain is your staple for hiking and trail running. Well maintained trails and portapotty on Dallas Road side while a restroom maintained by the city at the other trailhead.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 15 mentions

“If you want to enjoy the sunrise or sunset, make sure you head up at least 30-45 minutes ahead of time to enjoy the best colors and views.”
