Confirmed from Badger Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Badger Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (207 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 6 mentions

“Nice dog park for small dogs with a few benches and seats in the shade which is a plus.”

Nice dog park for small dogs with a few benches and seats in the shade which is a plus. The grass looked healthy. I visited with my dog around 4pm and it wasn’t too crowded. After playing in the park, we walked around the rest of the park. There appeared to be a community garden, play area for kids, and a nice field.

This is also a great place for an off leash walk with your dog. You do need to leash up at the parking lot and then walk around the children's playground, but once on the far side you can let your dog off leash and walk along the dirt path following the edge of the Russian River.

I love Badger Park and so does my service animal! I used to live at Fitch Mountain Apartments right next door! What a wonderful thing it was to go out of your little apartment and be able to walk to a park or me on my scooter ride in the park!

I bring my pup Daisy to Badger for the small dog park. It's the perfect place to meet and play. It has shaded benches for me and lots of grass for Daisy to run and tumble on. Drinking water, a kiddie pool to splash around in and available poo bags make this the perfect place for me & Daisy.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 25 mentions

“Smallish area, it actually warns you that the park is only meant for small dogs, which basically excludes our medium sized dogs.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
