Confirmed from Bashakill Wildlife Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (317 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Beautiful spot to catch sunrise or sunset, I parked on a gravel indent on the side of the road.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“Calm, clear water and many wildlife sightings including ducks, herons and what may have been a bald eagle (it was kind of far away).”

Basha Kill is a peaceful and beautiful spot I discovered during my trip to New York. It’s very quiet, full of nature, and perfect for a relaxing walk. The trails are easy to follow, the views are amazing, and you can hear birds everywhere. It’s a great place to take a break, enjoy fresh air, and feel calm.

The Bashakill is a favorite walking destination at any time of the year. It has lots of wildlife and pretty views. Its an old track bed so entirely flat. It can be muddy at many times of the year. Many parking locations. Across from Baskakill Winery is a popular spot...eagles off to left side of that parking.

Beautiful area. The only hiking trails we found were part of a longer trail, shared with bike riders, of which we walked a part back and forth (no loop), with limited views of the water.

Beautiful spot to catch sunrise or sunset, I parked on a gravel indent on the side of the road. However there are a lot of no parking signs…🤷‍♂️

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
